Every guest you add gets a text back. You just say yes.

Each connect card becomes a first text in your voice. You approve it with one reply, and SaltLight keeps your team on it.

A follow-up teammate that lives in your texts.

Your church already collects the names. SaltLight turns each one into a real conversation.

Every card gets a next step

Snap a paper card or let new guests flow in from Planning Center. Each one goes to the leader you choose.

Follow-up happens in your texts

No app and no login for day-to-day use. You and your leaders just reply by text.

It keeps your team on it

It reminds you, flags guests who go quiet, and gives your backup partner a heads-up if no one reaches out.

You keep the shepherding. SaltLight carries the remembering.

  • Three women chatting and laughing over coffee outside church
  • A smiling group of adults gathered around a table at a church class
  • Church members praying over a young man, hands on his shoulders
  • Two young men, one with an arm around the other, grinning at a young adults gathering
Built for the people in your lobby this Sunday.

How it works

Two kinds of conversations.

Everything happens by text. You get your own line to SaltLight, and every guest gets a thread where SaltLight quietly helps.

Leader thread

You + SaltLight

Your private text line with SaltLight. Guests never see it.

  • Snap or send connect cards.
  • Add guests and get updates.
  • Ask “Who still needs follow-up?”

  • Type normally to talk to SaltLight.
  • Start with @ to text your guest.
  • Your guest never sees SaltLight.

SL: I read Maria Alvarez, (951) 555-0148, next step baptism. Look right?
yes
SL: Done. Maria is in Planning Center, and she’s on your Baptism CareFlow.
SL: 1 of the other 2 cards was already in Planning Center, so no duplicate.

Friday 4:30 PM

who still needs follow-up?
SL: 3 guests are waiting on a first reply: Devon Pierce, Sam Reyes and the Okafor family. Want me to draft texts for all three?

One guest’s week on Pastor Dan’s phone

Watch the phone switch between his SaltLight thread and Maria’s thread.

  1. Leader thread

Text SaltLight a photo of one card or a stack. It reads them, checks with you, and adds new guests to Planning Center.

  2. Guest thread

Maria gets her own thread. SaltLight drafts a welcome in your voice. Reply SEND, NO to redraft, or @ to write your own.

  3. Guest thread

Type normally and only SaltLight hears you. Start with @ and it goes straight to Maria.

  4. Guest thread

When Maria goes quiet, SaltLight lets you know so you can check in. A reminder when she’s waiting on you. And if a new guest never hears from you, your backup partner gets a heads-up.

  5. Guest thread

Send Maria to the right leader. Jennifer gets a summary and the latest messages. Maria keeps the same number, with a short note that someone new is picking up.

  6. Leader thread

Back in your SaltLight thread, ask who still needs follow-up. It lists everyone waiting and offers to draft their texts.

You care about every name. You just can’t hold them all.

A family visits on Sunday. You mean to reach out, and then the week happens. By Friday nobody is sure anyone did. That isn’t a lack of care. No one person can carry every name.

What church leaders are saying.

“No manual connect-card entry. Every message sent by Sunday at 4pm. It changed how we handle follow-up.”

Built to be trusted with your people.

Your guests share their names and numbers with you in good faith. Here is how SaltLight keeps that trust.

  • You decide what goes out

SaltLight never texts a guest on its own. Every guest text goes out because you approved it, sent it, or asked for it.

It never texts a guest on its own.

  • Numbers stay private

Guests never see a leader’s personal number. Every conversation runs through a private SaltLight number.

What we believe

A church should be the one place where no one is a stranger twice.

SaltLight is here so the names you mean to hold are held anyway.

You should never have to wonder whether anyone reached out.

Questions pastors ask.

We already have church database software. Is this one more database to keep up with?

No. Planning Center, Rock, CCB: whatever you use stays your database. SaltLight works alongside it rather than replacing it. With Planning Center, new guests flow in from your forms and guests you add by text are written back. Rock is in early access, and Breeze, CCB, Tithe.ly and others are coming soon. No church software at all? SaltLight works on its own: snap a card or text a guest in, and follow-up starts. Tell us what you use.

Is a robot going to be texting our guests?

No. Every guest is texting with a real person from your church, and their replies go to that leader. SaltLight writes a first draft in your voice, and it never texts a guest on its own. Every guest text goes out because a leader approved it, sent it, or asked for it. SaltLight handles the remembering, and your people do the caring.

Where does our people’s information go? Is it training someone’s AI?

It’s stored on AWS, encrypted in transit and at rest, and we never sell it or train AI on it. An AI provider helps SaltLight read cards, draft and summarize messages, and answer questions. Guests never see a leader’s personal number.

My volunteers won’t learn another tool.

They won’t have to. There’s no app to download and no login for day-to-day follow-up: leaders get a text and reply by text. A short practice run with a pretend guest shows them how. Start with one leader, add more when your team is ready, and we’ll walk your team through setup.

I trust my team, but Sunday gets busy. What if a leader doesn’t follow up?

Every guest has a leader, and SaltLight keeps after that leader. If a leader goes quiet, SaltLight sends them a reminder. If a new guest never gets a first text, the backup partner set on that CareFlow gets a heads-up, so give every CareFlow one. If the guest goes quiet, SaltLight nudges the leader to check in. Every conversation is kept in a thread you can review in the portal.

Will my phone blow up with texts from numbers I don’t know?

Each guest gets their own thread on its own number, so conversations stay separate. Save that number under the guest’s name. If the same person comes back later through a new card, they’ll show up on a new number. Lost track? Ask SaltLight in the thread what the guest said last, or hand the guest to another leader with one text.

We already text guests with a tool like Text In Church. Isn’t this the same thing?

No. Most church texting tools are built to broadcast: announcements, reminders and automated sequences. When they’re used for follow-up, someone still has to look up the guest, log in, write the text and keep track of who answered. SaltLight flips that around. The guest comes to your leader, right in the messaging app they already use, with a first message already drafted in their voice. One reply sends it, and SaltLight keeps your leader on it while the conversation is open.

What does it cost, and what counts as a message?

Each plan is a flat monthly price set by message volume, not by people, and every plan includes unlimited leaders. A message is every text SaltLight sends or receives for you, to guests and to your leaders. Pick a plan by how many cards you get on a normal week (the size picker above is a good starting point), and move up anytime for a big Sunday. Not sure? Text us your weekly card count and we’ll suggest one.

Are we locked into a contract?

No. Plans are month to month, and you can cancel anytime. Our first 50 churches get founder pricing, locked while you stay, plus a direct line to the team building SaltLight. If you leave, the guests SaltLight added to Planning Center stay there.

Is SaltLight built for a church our size?

Yes. You pay for texting volume, not headcount, so a small church starts small, and church plants have their own Plant plan. Multiple campuses or a large church? We offer custom plans and a guided rollout.

Built by pastors, for pastors.

Together, our founding team has more than 70 years of real-world ministry experience. We’ve sat in your chair, lost the connect card, and felt the Monday whirlwind. So we built the teammate we always wished we had.

Minister more. Administer less.

Follow-up that happens in your texts, so Sunday afternoon goes to people. That’s the relief.
